Triumph Inspiration Award 2010: "Shape Sensation" is the New Design Challenge for Young Designers in the Third Year of the Worldwide Lingerie Design Competition
MUNICH, 18 February /PRNewswire/ — For the third year, Triumph International, one of the world's leading lingerie and shapewear brands, invites young students from world-renowned fashion schools to prove their creativity in an international design contest of the highest calibre. The winning designs from 29 countries will need to impress a prestigious international jury at the grand final, this year held in the fashion metropolis of London, as well as the worldwide online community at www.triumph-inspiration-award.com.
By interpreting the design theme "Shape Sensation", upcoming talent will take centre stage with their multinational view of shapes and silhouettes in the Triumph Inspiration Award 2010. This year, for the first time, a one-piece may be entered instead of only a two-piece bra and briefs, but the big goal remains the same: the young designers must win over the jury with the inspiration and creativity of their unique showpiece.
"Shaping women with lingerie that brings out the best in them while praising and encouraging their uniqueness is at the core of our business. We are excited to see which facets of shape fascinate young creatives from across the world", says Suzanne McKenna, Triumph's Global Brand Manager.
ATB Action Network to Boycott @ Ralph Lauren's Chicago Store on December 15th
The Boycott Ralph Lauren Facebook fan page gets over 3800 supporters in the first 36 hours at www.facebook.com/boycottralph
CHICAGO, Dec. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Documentary filmmaker Darryl Roberts (America the Beautiful) has spearheaded a major boycott against Ralph Lauren Polo, which will hit three major U.S. cities this month--Chicago, New York and San Francisco. On Tuesday, Dec. 15, Roberts along with 100 supporters seeking to improve media and advertising images being sent to young women and girls will boycott Lauren's Downtown Chicago store (750 N. Michigan Avenue) at 4pm.
Supporting Roberts in this boycott are the YWCA of America, IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals) and ANAD (National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Eating Disorders).
The boycotts come in the aftermath of the Filippa Hamilton uproar in October, when an ad featuring Hamilton, a model for Lauren, was found to be photoshopped to make her look thinner. Lauren released a media response, noting, in part, that, "Polo Ralph Lauren has apologized for the poor retouching of the images in question and takes full responsibility for the error." But in the following weeks, Roberts was notified of two additional ads, both featuring extremely thin looking models.
