Virtual Shopping Made Eclectic: Yannique Boutique

If “unique” is defined as radically distinctive and without equal, than Yannique must be its dope, cool kid cousin. I will admit before visiting yannique.com I was a little skeptical; because there are after all a plethora of websites selling women’s clothing on the world wide web. But what makes Yannique different is that its owner, our girl, Mallory, has swag. Coming off at first as shy and timid , she slowly sucks you into her fashion fantasy where all the girls rock Marc Jacobs and Betsy Johnson, and people posses that individual fashion sense seen before the influx of chain stores and copy cats in lieu of real trend setters. She talks about fashion like a girl with her first big crush, gushing over how amazing it all is, telling me that she always loved it and wants to do it forever.

The clothes, a well edited selection from emerging designers handpicked by the boutiques owner, are a mix of crazy, sexy, chic. Nic* Fish, the site’s featured designer of the moment, show cases a collection of convertible dresses, rompers and jumpsuits. Donned in textured fabrics and muted colors, these pieces could easily become staples in any women’s wardrobe. Pavon by Luz & Victoria is just another reason why you should pay Yannique a visit. The sister duo create gorgeous party pieces that are super sexy. If you purchase anything my pick would be their black nylon stretch tube dress with velvet fuchsia sequin sleeves. This dress is killer and looks like it should cost double its $250 price tag.
After speaking with Mallory I secretly became inspired. I fell back in love with fashion. I remembered how it felt to be excited about clothes. Yannique.com was a beautiful surprise, each piece will tickle your fashion fancy, and may even inspire you to break the everyday monotony of bland basics. After all, isn’t fashion supposed to be fun? So go ahead live a little!
